Financial freedom for women is critical, as not only does it lead to progressive change in society, but it is also vital for a developing economy like ours. To ensure constant growth whether in the context of an organisation or country, it is essential to promote and safeguard equality for – and dignity of – working women. Sexual harassment at workplace is unacceptable as it negatively impacts women financially, mentally and in terms of productivity.
Women often choose to remain silent in the face of such harassment, due to the fear of being ridiculed or victimised. However, silence is presumed as weakness, and taken to be consent.
To help you put an end to sexual harassment and the suffering, stigma, victimisation that comes with it, we are happy to present Mahila Bol, a nationwide survey of working women. It is an attempt to provide women an opportunity to speak out and share their experiences, talk about their ideal workplace environment, suggest measures that would allow them to work with equality and dignity.
When you participate in Mahila Bol, your voice will be heard by people who matter – from policy makers to social workers – and would be an important step towards creating a happy and empowering workplace place for you and your colleagues.
Act now, because now you have the power to make a difference!
